#198- See you next Tuesday… what?

The other night, I was catching up with my friend on the phone.

We talked for three hours… about the Connecticut elementary school massacre, holiday plans, her life, my life, etc…

When I mentioned how difficult to write in English and I told her that “I didn’t understand what my friends said on Facebook… I really need to study hard…” , she told me that “your English is fine. I might don’t understand what your friends said on Facebook either.” She is always sweet and kind.

Me: Really?

She: Really!

Me: But, the other day, I couldn’t translate the conversation on Seinfeld into Japanese…

She: No worries. The show is hard to understand sometimes, because they talk fast.

Me: Yeah? But the translation was on the paper… they don’t talk fast on the paper… I totally didn’t get what they are talking about…

She: You are fine, don’t worry.

Me: Yeah? How about “See you Tuesday” on Sex and the City episode. Even though simple words, “see” “you” “Tuesday”… I didn’t get it…

She: What? Which episode?

Me: Do you remember, Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress scene? Charlotte was mad at Samantha, and she said to Samantha, “See you Tuesday.”

She: Ok… I am going to google. Oh…you mean, “See you next Tuesday”? I found it!  “See You Next Tuesday” on Urban Dictionary. C: See, U: You, N: Next, T: Tuesday. Oh…My…God… this is very bad word…we usually don’t use this word. Worse than Bitch.

Me: Oh… I have to look up the dictionary for C…what? Could you spell it again?

She: I emailed it to you. Just take a look at it later.

Today is Tuesday. If I say to my friend who invited me to her Christmas brunch on Christmas Day (next Tuesday), ”See you next Tuesday”, does she understand this??? She is an editor/writer… she must know, right?

Then, on Christmas day, if I say to them (my friend’s family & friends), “see you next Tuesday” for New Year’s Day (Jan 1, 2013 is Tuesday!), do they get my joke???

Anyway, enjoy your holidays on Tuesday (Christmas & New Year’s Day)!

Happy Holidays to you :)  XOXO Yoko

#271-Why people fight?

Why do human beings keep fighting with each other or fighting wars?

About profit?

About territory?

About religion?

About ethnicity?

About statism?

About collectivism?

Why can’t we talk instead of fight (war)?

People are trying to change others…

People don’t want to change for others…

People think “I am right, you are wrong”…

I was thinking about “how can we resolve issues of terrorism and war in this world, can we talk instead of fighting?”

And then I realized “I need to think about my issue first” (since I moved into my apartment in Montrose one year ago)… yes, I have an issue about my living situation… my upstairs neighbor (64 years old woman who is not working) has been waking me up every night (around 11:15pm, 12:15am and 1:15am) with loud squeezing footsteps (it sounds not normal & regular footsteps) for one year… I had to call police twice, and I fought with this neighbor twice…

I tried to go to bed at the same time when this neighbor goes to bed… it doesn’t work (for me late night ene…

Title of this column: From L.A. “Slut?”

Since a few years ago, I have been noticing the egg shape sign of “eggslut” (http://www.eggslut.com) on the way to L.A. fashion district in downtown Los Angeles.

“Slut” means in Japanese “bimbo”, “whore”, “hooker” and “slut”.
“eggslut (a woman is sleeping around with eggs)”? This shocking name of the restaurant has been bringing curiosity to me.

This restaurant (“eggslut”) has a counter at the “Grand Central Market” which is also famous as a tourist popular spot, and when I drive by this place my curiosity about this place is getting bigger and bigger, because I always see a long line in front of…

#273- My last email to an upstairs neighbor

After I watched abc TV 20/20 CATFISH episode (Hooking a Catfish) “How this Canadian woman catfished an NBA star and an aspiring model, almost ruining their lives” (http://abcnews.go.com/US/canadian-woman-catfished-nba-star-aspiring-model-ruining/story?id=46778331) , I totally understood about how my upstairs neighbor (woman) is thinking…
These sick women are boring about their lives and they want to make other people miserable like them.
As I wrote my blog post on April 19, 2017, I’m having a trouble with an upstairs neighbor… I was very angry but lately I feel sorry for her… she is a lonely woman (she only goes out two hours per week for grocery shopping, she doesn’t have any visitors, she is similar to that Canadian woman) and she wants someone’s attention to make her life excite and fun (in this case “evil fun”)…

For me no matter what, I’m always happy… I appreciate my life…

Today after I saw this upstairs woman was walking around my home and peeking my home (where I sit or what am I …
