#16- Thanksgiving+Christmas at my best friend’s house

Yesterday, I finally visited my best friend (Suzie)’s house.

As I wrote about Suzie on Oct 19, 2008…we are friends since 1986…and we got some issue, so we were apart each other since 2000…then we found each other in March, 2008(we are working on the Japanese O.J. Simpson, Mr.Kazuyoshi Miura’s cold case. I was working with Japanese TV news program and Suzie was working for Mr.Jimmy Sakoda)…since March, 2008…we were talking on the phone and emailing each other a lot. We finally met at the press conference of Mr. Jimmy Sakoda on Oct 16,2008.

After that we were still talking and emailing(we were so busy, so we couldn’t see each other until yesterday)…and finally we got together yesterday.

Wow, she has a fully happy life! She has a nice house and family (the Japanese husband is my old friend…which means I was the matchmaker for them!)…two daughters are soooooooo cute and we had soooooooo much fun together yesterday.

Suzie is a great host and a great entertainer. She gave us (me, my mother and brother) nice gifts, she treat lunch (pizza, salad, soda and frozen yogurt) and cooked delicious dinner. The dinner was soooooooo gooooooood!!!

Chicken cutlet, cabbage & broccoli, potato salad, edamame, rice and miso soup. We made a toast with apple cider and the dessert was…pumpkin bread, baked French toast with maple syrup & vanilla ice cream and Vietnam iced coffee.

Today, I will enjoy above food again. She made a lunch box for me…she remembers when she lived with my family in Japan and my mother used to cooked lunch and dinner for us. Suzie remembers how my mother treated her in Japan. She treats me like my mother yesterday. I was glad to see that.

I am going to Japan next month (Christmas and New Year’s holiday), but I had a great holiday meal with Suzie and her family yesterday.

Thanksgiving + Christmas at my best friend’s house, I am soooooooo happy that our friendship came back!

Forever friends…Yes, we are.

#15- Do you know “Luxe Link”???

I just got a UPS package from my friend, Kalika right now. Wow, soooooooo quick!

Yesterday afternoon, I sent my email to her and just said hello. And we exchanged couple of emails yesterday afternoon. She has two beautiful babies now and I enjoyed photos of her babies. Soooooooo cute!

Anyway, I got a second “Luxe Link” from her today!!! Lucky me!!! The card says…”We just wanted to say thank you for the great blog you wrote about us.”

She owns Luxe Link. I wrote a blog about her and Luxe Link in my Japanese blog on May 27, 2007 and I introduced Luxe Link to many friends and people who I met at some restaurants.

If you read Japanese, please take a look at http://fromla.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2007/05/index.html .

Kalika also owns design and consulting firm, Citrus Studio (http://www.citrusstudios.com/.)

She was on CNN and E! etc…make sense, she is a great person and a great business woman! I used to interview and wrote about many entrepreneurs in U.S.A. for Entrepreneur Magazine Japanese edition…so I know who are the great entrepreneurs.

I met her at the party five years ago…she has been so busy with her work and her personal life, but she has a lot of energy to provide this kind of care and thought. She is smart and beautiful woman…I am so glad that she is a great friend of mine.

Today, I got a new Luxe Link ,Coco (This feminine yet subtle, chocolate colored floral design has made Coco an instant classic.Price: $35.00 ),if you want this cute smart one, let Kalika know…visit at Luxe Link(http://luxelink.com/).

This is a perfect Christmas gift for everyone who has a purse!

Happy Holidays to all!

#14- White rose, caramel marshmallow, water and candle…

November 22…today is my late father’s memorial day. He passed away 14 years ago (on November 22, 1994 in Tokyo, Japan.)

Today, I put white roses everywhere in my apartment and I made a little table for him…his picture, white rose, caramel marshmallow, water and candle.

I hope he is enjoying my treat in heaven today!

By the way, caramel-covered marshmallows from Littlejohn’s English Toffee House at Farmers Market ( http://www.farmersmarketla.com/) in Los Angeles are soooooooo good!!!

My mother told me last night over the phone from Japan, ”yes, please bring some caramel marshmallows to us when you are coming to Japan next month!”.

I already had three caramel marshmallows this morning…yes I am in real heaven!!!

Remember, life is very short…so please enjoy your life with your family and friends as much as you can.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

#13- My old best friend, Anette found me by Google today…

The other day…I talked back to LAPD officer on the street over my parking problem…oh my god… I know, I shouldn’t do it…I don’t know why I did that…

Yes…I have a short temper…and because of that, I lost many good friends over the years…as you know, one of my best friends, Suzie (I wrote about her in this blog couple of times), she found me this year after eight years no talk/no see each other…

And…today…one of my best friends, Anette found me/called me from New York! Oh my god!!! What a surprise!!!

We were friends since we met at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in 1989 in Los Angeles…and we had been fun together for long time…and she moved to New York and we got a big fight on New Year’s Eve & New Year’s day/1999-2000 in New York…then…I left New York…then our friendship was over at the time…

Anette found me by Google today…I was surprised that she found my cell number…

How did she find me??? Anette mentioned she saw my ad…

What’s ad??? Oh…I remember that I put “NEED A JAPANESE TRANSLATOR?” ad with my cell number( for extra fun with my career) on some web sites last month, that’s why she could find me and called me today…Wow…We can find anything on the internet these days!!!

Anette and I had a great conversation and we promised each other today, we will call each other and see each other from now on. I don’t feel like we didn’t see/talk each other for eight years…Wow!

She said, she was looking for me for couple of years, called Entrepreneur Magazine (I used to work there as a staff writer for six and half years) and my old phone number…(I moved many times all over in O.C. and L.A.)

We always had fun together, party, party and party!!!

“Anette, I am so sorry that I gave up our friendship eight years ago…now I am ready to have a fresh friendship with you!”

I visited her in Christmas and New Year’s time in New York for couple times in the past…this year… I am going to Japan to see my mother and brother for a month in Christmas and New Year’s vacation…, but I will visit her in New York soon in 2009.

Yes, I am so ready to see Anette in 2009. I feel like already having a fresh year/a new year!!!

My late father’s memorial day (Nov 22, 1994) is coming soon…I feel like, my late father is watching me and letting me to have more fun with my great friends!

Life is beautiful!

#12- Love power from Rena Inoue & John Baldwin…that’s hot!

I am working on the documentary TV program (This documentary program it's called “Fukkatsu no hi” which means “the day of the comeback”. We are introducing a person who has a successful and happy life after suffering. It's a new TV program for this fall in Japan) with TBS TV (Tokyo Broadcasting System Television) in this month. Monday the 17th is the last shooting day for this segment.

We picked Ms. Rena Inoue and Mr. John Baldwin who are figure Skaters for our segment (the 26th on air in Japan) and we are filming them since this Monday the 10th.

As a single woman myself…I love my life & myself and I am enjoying my single life like a “Sex and the City”…but, now…I have changed my mind! Rena and John are a soooooooo sweet couple and I feel like…“I am ready to marry!!!” with someone like John who is a sweet and nice guy! Rena is a lucky girl (Of course, John is a lucky boy too).

They skate like a single skater… that’s love!!! Such a nice feeling to see & feel “The one love, real love”…Oh…such a nice feeling!

By the way, when we are filming Rena & John the other day at the Paramount Iceland, I met the figure Skater, Ms. Sasha Cohen and the coach (for Rena & John), Mr. Phillip Mills.

***

Me: Wow, that girl is so great! I love her dance and skate!

Phillip: That’s Sasha. I know she is great!

Me: What’s? You mean Sasha Cohen?

Phillip: Yeah.

***

I enjoyed Rena & John’s performance (they were training) and Sasha’s performance (she was practicing).

And…When Sasha was going to leave… I just said hello to her.

***

Me: Hi Sasha! I love your skate and your passion! I enjoyed your skate!!!

Sasha: Oh, thank you! I am going to Japan in January.

Me: Really? I live here, but I am a freelance writer, so if you need some support for Japanese media or Japanese market, let me know, I will help you! (I gave my business card to her.)  Have fun and good luck in Japan!!!

Sasha: Ok! Thank you!

Me: Have a great trip to Japan!!!

***

Rena and John’s coach, Phillip is very friendly and a positive person. He always said to Rena and John, “bravo”!!! And he clapped!!! (Of course Rena and John are great!!! That’s why Phillip clapped, but Phillip is so sweet and funny!)

***

Phillip: Sasha is nice hun!

Me: Today, I am so lucky that I am watching two TV channels at the same time, Rena & John’s channel and Sasha’s channel!

Phillip: Ha ha ha!!!

Me: Wow, Rena and John are great skaters!!!

Phillip: Yes, they are wonderful!!!

***

We (TBS TV) are following Rena and John’s daily life for a couple of days…their home, skate rink, etc…so much fun!!!

I love to meet happy people and introduce their lives to people in the world, yes this is my job and I love doing it for people!

I am so happy to share my happy feelings and happy stories with people.

Have a happy life to all!!!

#11- Yes, we can!!!

Mr. Barack Obama said, “If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.”

I was watching on ABC, NBC and CNN every five minutes last night and…I was just checking what’s  going on “90210”…then breaking news came on the screen!!!

Since then…until now…I am watching ABC and CNN.

Wow, America, finally woke up from the long sleep…Good for you!!!

I really love American and U.S.A. because many people believe “Yes, we can”!

Yesterday, I couldn’t vote …because I am not a citizen, I am a permanent resident (green card holder) of U.S.A., but my heart always with U.S.A.

Good luck U.S.A.!

I am so happy to be here! Thank you America!!!
